100 divers participate in Citizen-sponsored comprehensive coastal clean-up off Jeddah

CITIZEN partnered with Century Events team to organize a comprehensive clean-up of the coastline and seabed around the Jeddah Corniche recently. The initiative in its second year now was held under the patronage of the Governor of Mecca under the title “Our environment Our Responsibility”. Around 100 divers of different nationalities participated in the initiative. The cleanup initiative saw divers remove remains of abandoned fishing lines, garbage and other debris from the seabed and the coastline off the Corniche, near the Three Bridges Area, in order to clear up the water and allow the sun to reach the coral beds, which were otherwise blocked off by a layer of trash.
