LARGE NUMBERS OF OMAN DELEGATES TO ATTEND ELECRAMA 2016 IN BENGALURU
There was high interest generated in Elecrama 2016 among power and water professionals, suppliers and manufacturers from Oman as they aimed to engage with India's burgeoning electricity sector and tap its vast business opportunities.
Over 50 key industry representatives, senior management figures, media personnel, government officials and utility industry stakeholders attended an interactive networking event in the Omani capital Muscat this week, where they were given a comprehensive snapshot of the incredible business opportunities that exist in one of the fastest growing global electricity markets.
“Elecrama 2016 provides a key gateway for regional electricity sector stakeholders to engage with the surging Indian power transmission and distribution industry,” said Heba Al Mansoori, Middle East Director, Elecrama 2016. “Trade and cultural ties between India and Oman have been flourishing since ancient times and continue to do so. Bilateral trade between the two countries was worth US$ 4.5 billion (ONR 1.75 billion) in 2012-13 and the fresh business generating potential offered by a mega trade event such as Elecrama, can boost that further.”
The delegates were addressed by senior Indian electricity industry figures and participated in informative interactive sessions that underlined the enormous synergies that exist between the Indian electricity sector and key markets in the Middle East. As a result of the intensive networking summit, a large number of the delegates expressed their interest in attending Elecrama 2016, which takes place in Bengaluru in February.
Recent research estimates that India is currently the 3rd largest producer of electricity in the world and is expected to add a whopping 700 GW of capacity by 2030. The electrical industry in India is expected to be valued at US$ 250 billion by 2030.
Since its beginnings in 1990, Elecrama has grown into an all-inclusive trade and networking mega event that is today the world's largest exposition of electric transmission and distribution equipment. Elecrama 2016 will be held in February next year at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre and attract the who's who of the electricity industry.
