UAE residents go on a two-week Camel Trek across the UAE desert

Dubai, UAE, January 17, 2019:  The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) has successfully kicked-off  the 5th edition of the annual Camel Trek on Wednesday.   Ten brave UAE residents have joined the 700 km camel trek which started from Ghayathi, in the western region of Abu Dhabi.  This year’s camel trek is the fifth edition organized by HHC.    Hind bin Demaithan Al Qemzi, HHC Director of Events, said: “The trekkers come from various nationalities, including an Emirati, American, British, Argentinean, French, Algerian and Indian. Dubai Customs uncovers luggage theft at Dubai International Airport

Dubai, UAE, January 15, 2019:   Dubai Customs arrested a passenger, of an Arab nationality, with his girlfriend, while attempting to steal passengers’ suitcases at Dubai International Airport.  The seizure started in response to reports of luggage disappeared at the arrival hall. The airport terminal was bustling with activity during the Christmas period with thousands of passengers travelling to and from Dubai.  Ibrahim Al Kamali, director of passenger operations at Dubai Customs commented: “We received reports of disappeared luggage. January 13, 2019:  Foreign nationals who are not residents of the United Arab Emirates can no longer apply for visas to Saudi Arabia through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai.    Foreign nationals who are not residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can no longer apply for visas to Saudi Arabia through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai.  Although no official announcement has been made, this information was conveyed to Fragomen verbally by a representative of the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai – VFS Tasheel International.  Background Previously, foreign nationals applying for Saudi visas could do so through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai even if they were not residents in the UAE.
