The Mall at World Trade Center Celebrates the UAE's Year of Giving with its Pre-Loved Stories & Book Fair in collaboration with “Wanna Read?”

March 19th, 2017, Abu Dhabi, UAE:   The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (The Mall at WTCAD) is proud to announce that it has partnered with “Wanna Read?”, the commendable charity led by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. This collaboration is celebrating the UAE’s Year of Giving by hosting its first spectacular charitable pre-loved stories & book fair, encouraging everyone to share their love of literacy.

With book donation boxes within Magrudy’s from 1st March until 5th April, The Mall at WTCAD and “Wanna Read?” are encouraging visitors to #ShareYourBook to kindly benefit others. The Mall at WTCAD has kick-started this worthwhile campaign on social media and is inviting everyone to post their donation on their social media pages using the hashtag #ShareYourBook

A love of reading is one of the best things you can give a child. “Wanna Read?” provides books and volunteers to read to children in hospitals throughout the UAE. Over the past 4 years “Wanna Read?” has complemented the care provided by UAE hospitals by supporting the rehabilitation process through educational enrichment.

Sheikha Shamma stated: This Book Fair is a wonderful way to combine 2016's Year of Reading with the current Year of Giving. What better gift can we offer to children than the magic of stories to capture and inspire their imagination.'

The Mall at WTCAD and “Wanna Read?” will also host a second Pre-loved Stories & Book Fair from 13-15th April, featuring special appearances by cherished Arabic authors such as Nairoz EL-Tanbouli, Salma Khamis Alrezaiqi and Majid Sokar, who will give special readings of their popular books and answer any questions from fans and fellow book-enthusiasts.

The Mall at WTCAD has also partnered with Beit3arabi to bring an incredible line-up of fun yet educational activities, which include Arabic calligraphy workshops, live author readings, toy-making workshops, children’s theatre, plus reading and shadow workshops.

Commenting James Waugh, General Manager of The Mall at WTCAD commented, ‘We are proud to partner with such esteemed institutions as “Wanna Read?” and Beit3arabi to organize our Pre-Loved Stories and Book Fair, as part of our commitment to participate in the UAE’s Year of Giving. Through our exciting line-up of activities we will work together to teach, entertain, and inspire our visitors whilst also contributing to “Wanna Read’s?” very worthwhile cause.’
