The General Civil Aviation Authority and Spanish company Indra Sistemas (Indra) have signed a contract to develop a new air traffic management system for Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre. This initiative marks the beginning of a new and important era for the Centre. The new system will enhance and modernize its capabilities in order to cater for the growth of the air traffic management sector in the country. The Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center provides air traffic control services to more than 2,500 air traffic movements per day.

19th September, 2017, Abu Dhabi, UAE: Abu Dhabi Airports announced today that it has achieved 65% increase in earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBIDA)/ operating profit during the January-August period this year compared to the same period in 2016. This announcement comes after the company’s executive team weekly meeting that took place at Al Ain International Airport last week, led by Abdul Majeed Al Khoori, Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports.
The company grew its operating revenue by 26%, which impacted the 65% EBIDA increase for 2017. One of the key contributors to this increase is the passenger facilitation charge introduced in July 2016. Airbus to equip A350 XWB pylon with bracket
Dubai UAE, 16 September 2017 - Airbus completed for the first time the installation of a titanium 3D-printed bracket on an in-series production A350 XWB. The bracket, built using additive-layer manufacturing (ALM) technologies (also known as 3D-printing), is part of the aircraft pylon, the junction section between wings and engines.
This is the first step towards qualification of more complex 3D-printed parts to be installed on production aircraft.

As of March 26, 2018, Finnair is adding a fourth daily frequency between Helsinki and Berlin. Dubai, UAE, September 12, 2017: Emirates is set to introduce a fourth daily service from Dubai to Sydney from 25 March 2018, complementing its existing three daily A380 services and improving connections globally.

Dubai, UAE, September 6, 2017: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), increased by 11.4% in July 2017 compared to the same period a year ago. This was the fourth time in five months that double-digit annual growth was recorded. July’s year-on-year increase in demand is nearly four times higher than the ten year average growth rate of 3.1%.
Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), grew by 3.7% year-on-year in July 2017. Demand growth continues to significantly outstrip capacity growth, which is positive for airline yields and the industry’s financial performance.
