Finnair launches best in market in-flight internet service on European flights; invites customers to test the service

Dubai, UAE, July 19, 2018:  Finnair is launching a new high-speed internet service on its narrow-body Airbus fleet on European flights. From July 19th onwards, Finnair customers will be able to enjoy the industry’s fastest in-flight connection speeds – even gate-to-gate - enabling each customer to use the internet as they do on the ground, from web surfing and online shopping to listening to music and even watching movies and TV shows from popular video streaming services. Lyon to become daily service with two extra flights per week Paris to get one additional flight per week Dubai, UAE, July 18, 2018:  Emirates today announced that it will introduce two additional flights to Lyon and one to Paris per week, complementing its existing schedule and providing even more choice and convenience to travellers.   The increase in frequency from five to seven between Lyon and Dubai will see the route become a daily service, while the extra flight to Paris brings to 21 the number of flights per week to the French capital, offering travellers three flights per day.   The Lyon flights will start on 2 August 2018, and will operate on a Tuesday and Thursday at the same time as the current flights, which depart Dubai as EK081 at 1435hrs and arrive in Lyon at 1930hrs. Dubai, UAE, July 16, 2018:  Emirates has been awarded IATA 753 compliance certification for its baggage operation in its home base of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Emirates makes history with one-off A380 touchdown in Islamabad

Air Freight Growth Continues to Grow Modestly in May, Up 4.2%

Dubai, UAE, July 05, 2018:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 4.2% in May 2018, compared to the same period the year before. This was slightly down from the 5.2% (revised from 4.1%) growth in annual demand recorded in April 2018.   Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), grew by 6.2% year-on-year in May 2018. This was the fourth month in a row that capacity growth outstripped demand growth.    After a weak start to 2018, demand for global air freight has now resumed a modest trend upwards. Emirates Engineering reconfigures second Boeing 777-200LR aircraft
