Etihad Airways has been unveiled as the official airline partner of the 2019 Special Olympic World Summer Games, an event that will bring more than 7,000 athletes from 170 nations to Abu Dhabi in March of that year.

Today it released early results of research carried out with Helsinki Airport using Microsoft HoloLens to analyze and manage airport operations in a mixed reality environment.

Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) has recognised 11 university students from across the UAE at the inaugural Fikra awards ceremony, held at the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Fikra, which means “idea” in Arabic, was launched in 2016, supporting the UAE government’s drive to encourage innovation among younger generations.
The students were encouraged to think innovatively and harness their entrepreneurial spirit to create ideas that could be implemented in businesses and entities across EAG.
More than 2,600 competition ideas were submitted by students, with 502 reaching the final stages. The final awards were presented for eight proposed ideas from the 11 winning students.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 22, 2017: As part of its expansion plan, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, a joint venture between DC Aviation Group based in Germany and Al-Futtaim, has announced that its second hangar located at Dubai South is on course for completion before the end of the year.
The 6,800sqm hangar will more than double the hangar capacity bringing its total land-side plot area to 24,000sqm and apron area to 13,000sqm. The new hangar will enable DCAF to add two single-aisle aircraft maintenance bays and provide enough space for an additional workshop and equipment storage.
