Halfeti

Penhaligon’s has launched a further addition to the Trade Routes Collection, Halfeti. The collection will now comprise five fragrances; each inspired by the luxurious and decadent commodities which were traded through London’s historic docks at the turn of the 19th century. Halfeti draws inspiration from the lavish goods traded with Turkey by the Levant Company; exotic florals, spices, soft leathers and precious fabrics.

The fragrance is named for the stunning black roses that grow on the banks of the Euphrates river in the small Turkish village of Halfeti. Dark and mysterious, the roses are exceedingly rare as a result of the unique environmental conditions in which they are grown.

Halfeti is an opulent woody floral, dazzling in a glow of luxurious golden saffron, decorated with bright citrus, green armoise and woody cypress. An exquisitely multifaceted rose is set like a precious jewel amongst a bouquet of sweet florals. The lavish drydown with an abundance of dusky patchouli heart leads into a melange of decadent resins, oud and amber, amongst velvet textured sandalwood and a suede-like leather.

Head Notes: Grapefruit, Bergamot, Green notes, Armoise
Heart Notes: Lavender, Cardamom, Cumin, Nutmeg, Saffron, Violet, Cinnamon, Rose, Jasmine, Cypress, Muguet
Base Notes: Leather, Oud, Amber, Resins, Cedarwood, Patchouli heart, Tonka, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Musk
Perfumer: Christian de Provenzano

Halfeti will launched on June 2015 and is priced at $263.00 for a 100ml Eau de Parfum.

No. 33 Eau de Cologne

In celebration of their 145th anniversary, Penhaligon’s will launch No. 33 this July. Named after a Penhaligon’s boutique at No.33 St James’s Street, the Eau de Cologne is based around an aromatic composition of lavender.

No.33 is a celebration of Penhaligon’s 145th year heritage. The iconic perfume house was established in 1870, a period of unprecedented adventure and discovery. The founder William Penhaligon, arrived in the vibrant city of London in the 1860’s to begin what would become an illustrious career. In 1874 he opened his first boutique on Jermyn Street, followed shortly by No.33 St James’s Street. William built are put ation for his unique approach to fine perfumery, combining imagination with inspiration from around the world, using high quality ingredients and innovative formulations. To this day, Penhaligon’s continues to create original and pioneering fragrances, celebrating and building upon their founder’s legacy.

Lavender has been an essential component of numerous Penhaligon’s scents since 1870. Both William and Walter Penhaligon used the ingredient when creating such fragrances as Hammam Bouquet, English Fernand Blenheim Bouquet. Lavender continues to play a key role in several of the perfume house’s creations to this day and include Endymion (2003), Sartorial (2009) and Lothair (2014), to name a few. Constructing the aromatic composition of No.33 around lavender seemed only natural, when launching a fragrance to celebrate the perfume house’s 145th anniversary.

No.33 opens in an aromatic burst of crisp citrus, rustic armoise and clary sage along side a bracing lavender note. Incredibly smooth, the heart is enriched by warming pepper, ginger and cardamom and fresh, rosy geranium. Tobacco, cedar and vetiver add a dry smokiness, balanced by the restrained sweetness of tonka, amber and vanilla. A contemporary celebration of lavender in all its bracing charm.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Orange, Grapefruit, Armoise, Coriander, Clary Sage, Cypress
Heart Notes: Lavender, Violet, Black Pepper, Ginger, Jasmine, Rose, Muguet, Geranium, Saffron, Cardamom
