According to a new survey conducted by the Crystal Dance Center, 84 percent of women in the UAE are more attracted to men who can dance, than those who can’t

A new study led by the Crystal Dance Center – Dubai’s first and only dance center run by World Ballroom Dance Champions – sheds light on how women in the UAE perceive men who know how to dance, versus men who don’t. A total of 100 people – 50 males and 50 females – aged 21-35 and living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were interviewed for the survey.

Based on the findings, approximately 82 percent of female respondents would prefer for their boyfriend/husband to know how to dance well. In fact, these women claim that they would be seriously impressed if their partner or prospective partner could ballroom dance with them.

In parallel, the analysis found that the majority of men (almost 62 percent) would like to be able to ballroom dance. However, almost 80 percent of male respondents admitted that they had never taken a dance class.

When asked about what holds them back from dancing, a staggering 70 percent of men stated that they simply didn’t know how to. Another 40 percent confessed that they were just too embarrassed to show off their moves. Only 22 percent described themselves as having two left feet.

Over 70 percent of men revealed that they would be impressed if their partner could ballroom dance. The majority of male respondents also feel that being able to ballroom dance properly would impress a potential partner.

In addition, almost 85 percent of women in the UAE believe that a dance class would be a fun date night idea!

“Overall, the survey results indicate that both women and men in the UAE have a keen interest in ballroom dancing,” said Crystal Dance Center founder and internationally-renowned ballroom luminary Greta Laurinaityte. “More importantly, the report highlights the fact that most women see the ability to ballroom dance as an essential characteristic in a partner. Understandably, however, the majority of men have a crippling fear of dancing and are simply too shy to hit the dancefloor. Lucky for them, there is a solution to that problem and it boils down to two magic words: dance classes.”

She also added, “At the Crystal Dance Center, we pride ourselves on offering a nurturing and welcoming environment designed to help students shed their inhibitions. The center boasts highly-qualified instructors, a state-of-the-art facility, and a versatile program that accommodates students of all ages and skill levels.”

Crystal Dance Center’s roster of licensed and qualified dance instructors comprises Laurinaityte, who is currently ranked the second best ballroom dancer in the world, Serbian World Ballroom Dance Champion Dusan Dragovic, and Lithuanian professional ballroom dancer Skaiste Alisauskaite.

The institute guarantees a dynamic environment and offers a broad range of ballroom dance classes and lessons covering a number of genres. These include Latin Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, Pasodoble, Jive, Ballroom Waltz, Tango, Vienesse Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Argentine Tango. Crystal Dance Center also provides Zumba classes as an alternative to ballroom dancing.
