Nayla Saab Takieddine grew up always knowing that gems were in her heart. From an early age, she was greatly influenced by her father, a collector of fine jewels, and her mother, who is heavily involved in the arts and culture scene. By the time Nayla reached university, she decided to study Interior Design, in combination with Psychology, to understand the human aspects involved with the creation of beauty, which laid the foundations for her future career. 

Throughout her adolescence and college years, Nayla would often be on the lookout for jewelry that was diverse yet fashionable. When she was searching for a set to wear on her engagement and did not find anything that suited her individual style, Nayla reached a turning point and decided to design her own creations for herself and her mother. Noticing her beautiful and trendy jewelry, Nayla’s friends soon began requesting special pieces of their own, leading the young designer to realize there was a strong demand for her work. As a result, she took another step in her career by enrolling in a training course and earning a degree in gemology. This gave her the incentive to start her own line and, thus, Or la loi was born.

Since the establishment of her luxury design label, Nayla has remained firmly committed to providing stylish originality, taking into consideration individual tastes while infusing her own chic creative spirit into each design bearing the distinct Or la loi name. Nayla continues to design from her base in Beirut, Lebanon, where she lives with her husband and her three children.
