Dubai, UAE, May 29,2016: Workspace at INDEX 2016, the region’s number one commerical interior design event, comes to a close today following its largest and most successful show to date. Now in its 15th edition, the event welcomed over 12,300 attendees and 180 exhibitors, with visitors streaming in to experience the final day’s events.

The show’s lastest expansion – Retailspace - has proved particularly popular with designers and visitors alike, who were able to access world-leading retail products, designed to not only influence consumer behaviour but also make the entire in-store process seamless, efficient and unforgettable.

In addition to Retailspace, a whole host of other new features were introduced this year, including Retail Design Day.Talking about the new addition, Rebecca Lockwood, Event Director, workspace at INDEX said: “Proving to be a popular addition to the Design Talks programme, the inaugural Retail Design Day at this year's workspace at INDEX was packed with a host of engaging panel discussions, featuring international retail superstars, including the likes of New York’s Sergio Mannino, as well as thought provoking presentations, such as The Retail Design Institute’s 2016 Trendcast from James Farnell, International President at Retail Design Institute in America. The success of the first ever Retail Design Day, further cements Dubai’s position as the second largest retail market in the world, according to CBRE”.

The show also featured the Visual Merchandising course hosted by Scarlet Opus and the Retail Design Competition, which came together to create the largest selection of retail interiors suppliers and knowledge-leaders ever seen at workspace.

In addition to brand new features, more than 180 exhibitors from 20 countries exhibited at this year’s show. George Bocti, Regional Director International Sales at sedus commented on workspace at INDEX: “We’ve been participating in workspace at INDEX for 12 years now, since 2004. For our first two shows, I flew in from Germany to be here and since have moved to Dubai to partake. We participate in workspace at INDEX to highlight our new products, build brand awareness and meet face-to-face with potential customers and build new leads – it’s an integral part of expanding our customer base”.
