November 05, 2022:  No More Bottles explained: “Fans will be able to drink free filtered water from our stations dotted around the DP World Tour Championship and make a positive change to the environment in the process by discarding plastic bottles in favour of reusable ones.”

Ed Sandison, Founder and Director of OCEANTEE, added: “As the first Official Sustainable Products Supplier to the DP World Tour, it's our mission to help drive positive change, including reducing the reliance on plastics and polyesters. That's why we're delighted to be working with No More Bottles and Dubai Can to help reduce the usage of single use plastic bottles at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. We believe everyone can, and should, say no to plastic bottles.”

Tom Phillips, Head of the Middle East, DP World Tour, said: “I am proud of the numerous on-site sustainability initiatives including supplying reusable water bottles and free water stations, recycling tournament waste, and the use of biofuel power generators as we work to reduce emissions on our journey to be a carbon neutral event. For currently unavoidable emissions we will be taking responsibility through a credible carbon off-setting programme with the Gold Standard.

We understand reducing our footprint for single tournaments is only one step in playing our part in taking climate action, which is why the Tour has recently signed up to the UN Sport for Climate Action Framework and its Race to Zero Pledge – becoming the first professional golf Tour to do so. This means we have committed to becoming fully net zero by 2040. Ultimately, our goal is to deliver world class sport and entertainment in a way that not only respects, but also helps to replenish, the landscapes and communities that provide so much to us each season.”

Mariam Ansari, Regional Sales Director – GCC, Averda, commented: “We are honoured to work alongside  the DP World Tour to bring their sustainability vision to life by providing an array of efficient and innovative waste management solutions. As one of the biggest golf events in the world, the DP World Tour Championship  offers a great platform to communicate the importance of waste recycling and sustainable landfill use, while also setting the global standard for sustainable events.”
