Comba Telecom to Address Region's Mounting Mobile Data Traffic at LTE MENA
Wireless solutions provider set to present blueprint for building cost-effective HetNets at upcoming event
Dubai, UAE – May 11, 2015: Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited, a global leading wireless solutions provider, will present the key to constructing a cost-effective HetNet for increased coverage and capacity on day one of LTE MENA 2015; HetNets continue to gain importance in light of the Middle East and Africa’s mounting mobile data traffic, which is expected to escalate at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 72%, with a predicted 56 million LTE connections in the MENA region alone by 2018 [1].
“Mobile operators in the region are rolling out higher capacity LTE Networks to guarantee quality, seamless coverage and the freedom of always-on mobility. But with mobile data traffic scaling up as quickly as it is, especially in high-density areas where spectrum scarcity is felt the most, HetNets present a cost-effective solution,” said Marie Ma, Director of Product Marketing at Comba.
Driven by the thriving demand, overall global spending on HetNet infrastructure is expected to reach USD 20 billion annually by the end of 2015 [2], while small cells, carrier Wi-Fi, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and C-RAN networks are set to account for over 50% of all mobile data traffic.
“The increased deployment of HetNet teaches us that there is no blanket solution; finding the right approach to different scenarios is critical to meeting the needs and demands for a faster, more capable mobile network in a cost-efficient manner. Comba Telecom will therefore showcase its latest technologies geared to support the future of the LTE landscape in the MENA region, which includes building optimised HetNets,” added Ma.
The LTE MENA event will draw major players within the region’s telecommunications ecosystem to lay the groundwork for future expansion of LTE Networks, during its three-day run from May 11 to 13, at Dubai’s Conrad Hotel. Alongside presenting on HetNets, Comba Telecom will also participate in a panel discussing the role of small cells and Wi-Fi in LTE Networks at the event.
