Empower Participates in the IDEA Campus Energy 2017 in Miami, USA
 

HE Ahmad Bin Shafar: ‘We have a firm commitment to provide the best cooling services by using eco-friendly technologies and Dubai takes a front seat in global discussions of district cooling’ 

Themed as “A Sustainable Future”, the conference is held in sync with International District Energy Association (IDEA)’s Board of Directors Meeting

Dubai, UAE, 21 February 2017:  HE Ahmed bin Shafar, CEO of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, is participating in the IDEA Campus Energy 2017 which is being held in Miami, Florida, USA under the theme “A Sustainable Future”. This conference is held in sync with the IDEA Board of Directors Meeting. 

HE Bin Shafar, who is a member of the IDEA Board of Directors, has attended the IDEA BoD meeting. H.E Bin Shafar is the first Emirati member of the IDEA Board of Director, since 2013, whose tenure in the Board has been renewed until 2019. 

H.E Bin Shafar said, prior to the Board meeting that Dubai is in the forefront of global cities in district cooling as the city takes a front seat in the global discussions of district cooling. 

This participation is part of Empower’s strategy to enhance its presence globally in its attempt to achieve better communications with global key players in the energy and cooling sectors. 

The Campus Energy 2017 which is being held in Hyatt Regency Miami includes a series of activities, workshops and presentations. Empower is presenting in the conference its innovative experience in the district cooling field, while observing peers’ experiences at the same time, especially in areas such as energy saving and using renewable and clean energy. HE Ahmad Bin Shafar also meets leaders of various organisations as efforts to unify their visions and develop common grounds for future collaboration in the energy field.

“Our participation in this conference is in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for all the national organisations to represent UAE in all global forums,” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar. “We at Empower are keen to provide ground-breaking solutions and to present our experiences in all international events related to energy and cooling. Our objectives are always aligned with Dubai Plan 2021 and Dubai Energy Strategy 2050, to help in reaching the sustainable development in terms of natural resources’ preservations and using clean energy.”

At the same time, we are keen to exchange experiences and assess latest technologies in energy efficiency. We want to reach-out and communicate with all experts and researchers working in this field to further enhance our knowledge. The Campus Energy is an annual event organised by International District Energy Association (IDEA). Biggest companies from the industry participate in this event, as well as experts and scientists from all over the world. Many workshops, seminars and meeting are held during the conference, and many important topics such as Microgrid and thermal distribution are discussed.
