UAE, February 26, 2017- The Department of Economic Development - Ajman (DED-Ajman) successfully coordinated a visit to their counterparts in Dubai, the Department of Economic Development - Dubai (DED-Dubai), to carry out comparative standardization and to share best practices, experiences and mutual resources. The visit is part of DED-Ajman's continuing commitment towards the improvement of operational performance and procedures while also trying to effect positive change in its systems and operations.
Mohamed Masoud Al Kutbi, Director for the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection, DED-Ajman, said: The visit was primarily aimed towards exploring the latest practices in operational aspects like monitoring, inspection, follow-up, commercial fraud and consumer protection. The visit also aimed at finding ways to improve other aspects, especially in the department's sections concerned with maintaining consumer safety and ensuring healthy consumer activity across the UAE markets. The visiting delegation, which were composed of department heads from DED-Ajman, were briefed by their counterparts from Dubai on many essential topics like the key guidelines, standards and regulations covering the inspection of economic establishments; how to properly receive, facilitate and address complaints from consumers; guidelines on organizing exhibitions; how to raise consumer awareness and ways on how to combat commercial fraud and protect intellectual property”.
Al Kutbi expressed confidence in DED-Ajman's efforts to acquire the latest information and best practices from both local and international bodies to help further establish a strong foundation in the move to bring more development and improvement, particularly across the nature of doing business in Ajman.
