27th February 2017, Ras Al Khiamah, UAE:  RAK Hospital, one of the premier healthcare institutions based in Ras Al Khaimah has introduced a unique and luxurious motherhood experience for women offering complete care, support and pampering “mothers to be” in every possible way. The distinct program from pre-conception to post delivery and beyond offers an individualised approach for woman and her pregnancy needs. The ‘Royal Motherhood Experience is a comprehensive and luxurious ‘mothercare’ concept that takes into account not just the essential requirements of an expectant mother, such as antenatal and post-natal classes, diet consultation, breast-feeding awareness classes and dental screening, but also offers luxurious spa sessions (during pregnancy and after pregnancy), relaxing yoga sessions, and even tailored plans on the best ways to come back to shape after delivery. The programme also includes complimentary paediatrician consultation until the baby’s first birthday.

Dr Raza Siddiqui, CEO of Arabian Healthcare Group and Executive Director, RAK Hospital said “Motherhood is a special journey and we want to make it memorable by providing every woman a chance to be pampered through our unique concept. We help you embark on the miraculous journey of bringing a happy, healthy child into this world in the most memorable way possible”.

“And it goes beyond delivery wherein our experts work with you helping you come back to shape with the help of Swiss physiotherapy sessions, spa treatments and other weight loss measures”.

Pregnant woman are expected to follow a special diet and lifestyle regime not just to reduce tension, but also for optimal development of the foetus. Properly planned diet, massage therapy designed to alleviate pregnancy pain, yoga classes and such activities play an essential role. Doctors further underline the need for holistic medical and expert care during the period to avoid unforeseen complications.

“For example, recent researches indicate that a stressful pregnancy can result in diseases as serious autism among babies,” commented Dr Pauline Hobeika, Senior Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology at RAK Hospital, “Studies also reveal that massage therapy plays an instrumental role in reducing anxiety, symptoms of depression and serves as pain reliever for muscle and joints and even improves labour outcomes. Furthermore, certain nutrients, if not taken in adequate amount during pregnancy can actually put the baby’s mental and physical growth at risk.”

Dr Talat Masroor Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Head of Department at RAK Hospital added: “This is why we put a lot of emphasis on a mother’s comforts during this period. When you have all the services under one roof and the confidence that you’re under expert care, and you will have the luxury to just let go and enjoy being a mom. At RAK Hospital we create an environment that is warm and soothing, providing the much needed peace of mind to the mother. The spa at RAK Hospital facility, for instance, is designed to suit the needs of pregnant women with skilled personnel and various messages to suit their medical needs and conditions. The fact that it’s within the hospital premises makes it all the more convenient for ladies.”

Dr Dr Lalitha Kamini, Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology at RAK Hospital, also cautioned women opting for yoga and massage therapy during pregnancy to choose the right therapist and advised them to follow their practitioners’ orders.

“While yoga and massage therapy has its benefits, things can go horribly wrong for pregnant women if proper care is not taken, which is why it is always advisable to visit a therapist who is trained in the skill,” she warned.

Staying true to RAK Hospital’s philosophy of patient’s comfort first, the programme provides the Royal birthing experience at an economical value of AED 7,999 (excluding a few services). The hospital is dedicated to meeting the unique and changing medical needs of women of all ages, providing comfortable, luxurious and warm environment with personalised care.
