Dubai, February 28, 2017 – Hong Kong and UAE have enjoyed robust bilateral trade relations on a range of products and services over the years. Adding to the Hong Kong’s business advantages, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) organises more than 30 exhibitions each year to bring together buyers and suppliers from both economies to develop their business.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Nasser, Deputy Director, Middle East, HKTDC announced here today that eight international fairs covering lighting, electronics, ICT, housewares, home textiles and furnishings, gifts and premium, printing and packaging as well as medical industries will be held in Hong Kong in the coming April and May, which will offer ideal platforms for traders and suppliers from the Middle East to expand their businesses into new markets. Abdul said that in 2016, HKTDC’s some 30 fairs attracted over 36,000 exhibitors and over 711,000 visitors from all over the world. Among them, there were over 280 exhibitors and over 12,000 buyers from the Middle East, showing the Middle East companies are keen to seek business opportunities through HKTDC exhibitions platform.
The UAE is Hong Kong’s 14th largest trading partner. In 2016, the total trade value between the two places reached USD10.6 billion, up 5.3%. In which, UAE was Hong Kong’s 11th major export market with a total export value of USD 6.81 billion and 17th largest import source with an import value of USD 3.78 billion.
Supported by a combination of international quality exhibitors and buyers, the fairs offer a one-stop marketing and sourcing platform, and represent prime opportunities for traders to gather the latest market intelligence. “We are in close ties with each other. The 9th edition of Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) will be staged from 6 to 9 April. Around 1,300 exhibitors are expected to join the fair, a great variety of merchandise will be showcased at different theme zones.
LED & Green Lighting continues to be the highlight zone as more and more consumers and business tends to adopt energy-efficient lighting. The fair is the ideal platform for trading in both functional and decorative LEDs and Green Lighting. Hall of Aurora provides an elegant space for top-notch branded collections of eye-catching, high quality lighting fixtures. HKTDC Hong Kong Electronic Fair (Spring Edition) cum International ICT Expo

Entering into their 14th editions, the Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and ICT Expo will provide an international platform for over 3,400 exhibitors to showcase their latest electronic products and cutting-edge ICT solutions to global buyers.
A new Startup zone will be launched at the two fairs, which will gather tech startups from around the globe to present their innovative electronic products and ICT solutions, allowing investors to explore investment and partnership opportunities. A series of themed events including pitching session, “Startup, Smart Launch” and Startup Mentoring sessions will be arranged to provide an excellent platform for startups to present their ideas.
At the Electronics Fair, there will be a new Tech Hall, clustering four thematic zones including the inaugural Virtual Reality zone, as well as Connected Home, Robotics & Unmanned Tech and Wearable Electronics. HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair cum Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair

HKTDC Hong Kong Houseware Fair will run from 20 – 23 April 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for its 32nd edition. The fair will gather over 2,200 exhibitors, showcasing a wide range of quality household items from around the world.This year, the Fair celebrates aspects of “LIFE” which stands for “Lifestyle”, “Interiors”, “Feast” and “Enrich”.
Zones under the theme “Lifestyle” are the “Hall of Elegance” which will present over 40 prestigious exhibitors, “World of Fine Dining”, “World of Fine Décor”, “World of Pet Supplies”, “Green Living” and the new zones, “Coffee Alley” and “Designers Furniture”..
“Interiors” features exhibitors of product zones like “interior Décor”, “Festive Décor”, “Best of ASEAN”, as well as “Creative Arts & Cultural Craft”.

The eighth edition of HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair will be held from 20 – 23 April 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair gathers over 280 exhibitors to present a wide range of household textile items including furnishings, bedding, curtains, carpets and towels. In 2016, the fair attracted over 18,000 buyers from 107 countries and regions.
An impressive line-up of group pavilions from the Chinese mainland and India, including three textile industry associations from India will participate this year. Also, the Pavilion from Jiangsu Nantong, dubbed “the Hometown of Textiles” in the Chinese mainland, will return to showcase its quality textiles.
HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair cum Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair

Being the world’s largest fair of its kind, the 32nd edition of Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair is expecting over 4,200 worldwide exhibitors. Hall of Fine Designs will house about 130 high quality brands such as B.Duck, Moleskine, Cross, Nina Ricci and Sanrio. There will be Start-up zone to showcase innovative and unique pieces from new entrepreneurs and designers. The inaugural Hair Ornaments & Accessories zone is also established to cater market demand. Other zones include World of Gift Idea, Fine Porcelain Gifts, Green Gifts, Hiking and Camping Products, Party & Festive Items and iAccessories. The fair acts as Asia’s leading trade and information exchange platform for printing and packaging equipment, products, services and total solutions providers and is expecting over 400 exhibitors.
