UAE's Hotpack to foray in the UK with an investment of GBP 50 million

DUBAI - March 8, 2017:  Hotpack Packaging Industries, a leading producer and wholesaler of quality disposable food packaging materials in the UAE, has recently announced an investment of GBP 50 million to develop a facility in Wrexham – Wales, England. The facility will be equipped with the latest in packaging and manufacturing technologies.

The announcement was made when Ms. Lesley Griffiths, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs, and Mr. Philip Parham, UK Ambassador to the UAE, visited the USD 27 million, Hotpack head office and factory spanning over 360,000 sq. ft. in Dubai Investment Park.

The Wrexham facility will be established as the UK & European head office and manufacturing facility and will potentially create 250 jobs in the region. 

Announcing the expansion and investment, Mr Abdul Jebbar P.B., Group Managing Director at Hotpack Packaging Industries said, “As part our global expansion plans, we are delighted to announce the investment and expansion into the UK.  We are currently focusing on increasing our global footprint and are looking to establish the regions head office and manufacturing facility in Wales, UK.”

“Our efforts have been recognized by the Welsh Government and they have been extremely supportive. We are extremely delighted to join hands with them in building great relations with the Government of Wales. Through our facility, we hope to create 250 job opportunities.  Wrexham and the immediate area are rapidly emerging as a ‘Centre of excellence’ in advanced food technology and we look forward to bringing our 22 years of experience to enhance and support this sector with investment, job creation, training along with the very latest in production lines”, he added.

Mr. Ken Skates, Economy Secretary for the City of Wales said, “We are delighted to welcome Hotpack to the UK. It gives us great pleasure that the company is actively considering Wales as its manufacturing base in the Europe. Our aim is to have sustainable growth in Wrexham and we are extremely supportive of new industries and companies to open their facilities in the city. Hotpack is not only adding to our economy and creating jobs but also bringing innovative technology in the food manufacturing sector to the city.”

The Dubai-headquartered Hotpack Packaging Industries, which is part of Hotpack Holding & Investment Group, is one of the leading manufacturers and wholesale distributors of disposable food packaging, serving and related products in the region and beyond. The Group has an annual turnover of AED 700 million and is eyeing further opportunities across various global markets. Currently the group is having operations in 7 countries across ASIA.
The group’s manufacturing facilities are equipped with the cutting-edge technology for competent production, storage and logistics operations.
