New date and venue announced for the 24th edition of the show
Dubai, UAE, April 9th, 2017: International Expo Consults (IEC), a branch of Falak Holding, stated that exhibitors at this year’s Dubai Entertainment and Amusment Leisure (DEAL) show have signed contracts worth over US$1.66 billion dollars. The DEAL show grew by 30 percent last year over the previous years as exhibitors signed contracts for innovative products and projects, amusement rides and other equipments that were being rolled out during the course of the year.
This year, the show welcomed over 300 exhibitors from across several countries and attracted thousands of trade visitors. This three-day event is scheduled to be held from 8th - 10th April 2018 at Zabeel Halls 1, 2 and 3 at the World Trade Centre, Dubai. The dates were announced by the International Expo Consults – IEC which would help exhibitors and buyers to interact on a common platform in order to take retail entertainment to the next level. The 24th edition of DEAL 2018 would be the largest show compared to the previous editions as many new exhibitors are expected to join the show.
“We are extremely delighted that majority of our exhibitors have signed significant contracts during the show. Many meetings and business contacts have been created and developed as exhibitors reached out to several visitors and trade partners at the show. There has been a renewed zest in the industry and we are sure that the region will be witnessing state-of-the-art Family Entertainment Centres (FEC) due to the ingenious products that were showcased at DEAL. Themeparks in this region have also been growing on an upward spiral with innovate concepts showcased at this show to attract footfalls from residents and tourists alike,” said Mr.Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman, IEC.
With tourism contributing to the 8.5% of its GDP by the end of 2016, the UAE is tremendously investing on infrastructure projects to welcome more and more visitors as per reports. Also the Dubai Expo 2020, for example, is expected to bring 25 million visitors, 70% of whom will come from abroad. This is expected to boost visits to theme parks and retail malls encouraging the growth of FECs in UAE. With growing number of tourists, it is imperative for shows like DEAL to be conducted and attract stakeholders across the region and the globe.

Year 2017 looks promising for our industry as most amusement operations have registered a growth in revenue and footfall year on year. The DEAL show has shaped the region’s entertainment industry for the past two decades and it has brought together great minds and their world class innovations all under one umbrella. DEAL has led the amusement and entertainment space during this period and the testimony to this is the fact that exhibitors at DEAL 2017 have signed multi-million dollar contracts in just 3 days. Foraying into the 24th edition, DEAL 2018 expects to witness an even larger gathering of key players and visitors in the amusement industry from Middle East, Africa, US, Mediterranean and Asian countries.
As per Global Industry Analysts, the theme park and amusement market across the globe is projected to generate revenues of almost AED118 billion by 2017. Several new projects are coming up in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman and the region is set to witness a remarkable growth in the entertainment sector in the near future. The growth of the amusment and leisure industry necessitates the need for shows like DEAL in the region.
This year’s DEAL has already attracted new exhibitors from countries diverse as Canada, Taiwan, Denmark, Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, Turkey, Slovenia, Chech Republic, North Ireland, Portugal, Kuwait, Italy, Poland and Spain. Few names like Brogent Technologies, Laservision Mega Media, JB Inflatables, Wibit Sports Gmbh, Delta Strike International, Ropes Courses, Inc. and many more made a debut at DEAL 2017.
Apart from bringing attention to several innovations, DEAL 2017 showcased cutting-edge inventions like the much-anticipated - augmented reality games, 9D park rides, 12D cinemas, family entertainment centre equipment, among the endless array of ingenious modernizations presented.
