Ajman, UAE, May 9, 2017– His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman and Member of the Supreme Council, commended the City University College of Ajman (CUCA) on its role as a higher education organization, that has placed key focus on the development of human resources. His Highness emphasized the need for more higher education institutions and Colleges, to establish a high-level academic curriculum at all levels, aimed at promoting the youth and generating national human resources who are capable of leading and managing various government and private entities.
The statement was made by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi at the graduation ceremony of the second batch of students from CUCA where a total of 354 graduates were awarded. H.E. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Coucil, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, and H.E. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman and Chairman of CUCA also graced the occasion with their presence. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Head of General Security for Dubai, gave the keynote address during the commencement ceremony. The graduates, that are over a hundred more students compared to the previous year’s graduation, were recognized in a ceremony held at the Emirates Hospitality Center in Ajman.
H.H. said that the development of human resources is a top priority for the wise leadership of UAE because it is the cornerstone for building a society that is capable of progress and development.
H.H Ruler of Ajman congratulated the graduates and their parents, saying that the successive batches of graduates in the UAE and Ajman reflect the Country’s commitment to the development of capable human capital. In line with this commitment, the Colleges and Universities in the Country receive utmost support from H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses, Members of the Federal Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.
H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman, CUCA, stressed that delivering quality education in Ajman is a top priority for the Ajman Government, which falls in line with the Emirate’s and the UAE Government’s vision to build a generation of leaders and innovators that value excellence and aim to achieve the highest goals of the UAE.
H.H. added: “We are proud to witness today the growth of students in Ajman and their willingness to learn and acquire new skills that meet the needs of today’s global economy. The students have shown their passion for learning through their outstanding works and dedication to complete their degrees to become productive members of society. I wish them and their parents the best for their positive contribution in aiming for a better future.”
Imran Khan, President of Ajman University College and CEO of READ, said, “We are very proud to present our graduates today for their, success and we congratulate them and their parents for the hard work they have shown to achieve their goals. This year’s commencement exercises are also a celebration of the College’s journey towards attaining the University status”.
Khan added, “We are grateful for the tremendous support we have received from H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman in developing the new College Campus, which will be ready in September this year, as part of the AED 1 billion READ project. With the great support of the Ajman Government and its key focus on improving the quality of education in the Emirate, we are confident that more advanced graduates equipped with world-class skills will emerge from Ajman to become part of the Country’s productive workforce in the near future.”
The ceremony was also attended by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Ruler's Court, H.E. Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, along with a number of university managers, diplomatic figures, directors of federal and local departments, VIPs and senior officials from across the UAE, in addition to parents and friends of the graduates.
The College is looking forward to major milestones this year, including moving to its new campus and achieving the status of a University.
