Back to School: Al Naboodah Group Enterprises Delivers Over 750 New School Buses Across the UAE

Estimated 400,000 UAE school children transported daily across a fleet of school buses provided to-date

Dubai, UAE – 10th September 2017:  Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE), one of the UAE’s oldest and most respected family conglomerates with a diverse portfolio of businesses, is kick starting the upcoming academic year by providing 750 new school buses. Partnering with operators such as Emirates Transport, Dubai Taxi Corporation, School Transport Services and other private schools, ANGE’s buses are transporting hundreds of thousands of children safely to and from school across the UAE.

Buti Al Naboodah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer: Commercial for ANGE said: “Over the past 30 years, Al Naboodah Group Enterprises has been a trusted partner, providing government bodies with school buses that meet the highest safety and operational standards for UAE students. Quality customer service and safety remain a priority, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to best practices across all areas of our business.”

The new buses, which are distributed through Swaidan Trading, the commercial vehicle and heavy equipment business of ANGE, include Ashok Leyland Falcon school buses and Sunwin school buses. All buses have been tailored to the highest international safety standards of school transport services mandated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA), and the Department of Transport.

Ajit Kumar, Chief Operating Officer: Commercial, Transport and Electrical for ANGE said: “Through Swaidan Trading, Al Naboodah Group Enterprises represents some of the world’s most trusted brands in the UAE such as Ashok Leyland and Sunwin. We go to great lengths in customising our school buses to meet safety standards while ensuring a superior level of comfort for students.”

Recently, Ashok Leyland, which is ranked as the world’s 5th largest bus manufacturer and boasting production facilities in the UAE, successfully launched the first rollover compliant OYSTER 33-seater school bus, meeting and exceeding safety requirements set by authorities.

With a range of seating options that can accommodate 25 to 83 students, the school buses feature Euro-3 turbocharged engines with auto fire suppression system, fire-retardant school bus seats with height adjusting retractable integrated seat belts, super cooled air conditioning, fully pneumatic brakes with ABS, built-in CCTV systems, passenger door sensors to prevent accidental closure, LED destination boards, and roof hatches and emergency exits on all sides.

ANGE has a strong history of providing high quality bus fleets that feature state-of-the-art safety, comfort and infotainment features tailored to UAE conditions, and will continue to meet and exceed safety standards required by authorities and provide a comfortable travelling environment for the students.
