DEWA named main sponsor of Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices 2017
 

Dubai Government Excellence Program marks another success with its annual forum

Dubai, 1 October 2017:  The Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) has announced that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will be the main sponsor of the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices, an annual knowledge-sharing platform held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Organized by The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai, the forum will take place from 7-8 November at Dubai World Trade Centre.

For nine years, the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices has aimed to establish a culture of excellence in government work by promoting the concepts of knowledge-transfer and continuous learning. The 10th edition of the forum will be an opportunity for attendees and participants to hear from local and international speakers in the field of government who are actively shaping the future and working to please the people they serve. More than 2,000 officials, government leaders and employees of Dubai government are expected to attend.
 

HE Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council, said: “For nine years, the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices has instilled the pursuit of excellence and innovation within government. Now in its 10th year, the forum will build on its earlier successes under the theme of ‘An inspiring government shapes the future and achieves happiness’. This theme calls on all government entities to embrace global best practices, and it salutes the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has made happiness and positivity a government commitment.”

“We are honored that DEWA has taken a leading role at this year’s forum. Over the years, DEWA has built a true and effective partnership with the Dubai Government Excellence Program by placing quality at the center of its corporate vision.” 

Shaibani praised DEWA for its willingness to promote the concepts of leadership, innovation and excellence in its ranks and thanked the authority for coming on board as this year’s main sponsor.

Best practices for a sustainable development

The forum objectives are aligned with our vision in respect of excellence, and our continued endeavors to create an innovative and creative working environment, while getting inspired by the government best practices. In continuation of its excellence journey, DEWA won a lot of excellence awards from DGEP awards’ different categories, in the last edition this year and the previous ones. This is part of DEWA’s efforts to achieve unprecedented levels of government excellence, raise stakeholders’ satisfaction and make people happier,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“We are proud to be the main sponsor of the Forum, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance the government integration, and instill a culture of fruitful cooperation amongst the government entities. This contributes to the development of government services and performance,” added Al Tayer.

Al Tayer noted that DEWA is keen to effectively invest in the latest technologies, and get inspired by the government best practices in shaping the future, and achieving the sustainable development as per the environmental safety standards, and government excellence concepts.

“As the forum’s main sponsor, we hope to draw attention to this critical event, and encourage all Dubai government entities to participate in this forum effectively,” concluded Al Tayer. 

Close cooperation
Dr. Ahmed Nuseirat, General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, said: “The Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices is a platform for government leaders and administrators to improve government services and best practices. DEWA has actively participated in the forum for many years, and we are excited to have the authority on board as the main sponsor of the 10th edition.”

Dr. Nuseirat continued: “DEWA has been a steadfast contributor to the Dubai Government Excellence Program, jumpstarting opportunities that have been recognized in our awards program. As the main sponsor of this year’s forum, DEWA is once again investing in a sustainable program of government excellence.”

Dr. Nuseirat pointed out that the contributions government agencies make in sponsoring the forum contributes to the achievement of the emirates’ objectives and reflects positively on its success. 

'We hope that DEWA’s cooperation in the forum will encourage government entities to explore new collaborations and embrace entrepreneurship, excellence and creativity in government work. An inspiring government shapes the future and achieves happiness
The forum will feature a mix of local and international speakers presenting a variety of government projects and initiatives that exemplify the highest standards in a variety of fields around the world. Additionally the event will bring experts on the latest trends in government work to discuss the DNA of an inspiring government and to hold dialogues about the future of government work.

The forum will also serve as a stage for the winners of the Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards to share their accomplishments with their peers, and detail the ideas and processes that earned them top honors at the awards in April.
