Danish retail chain JYSK, celebrates its first birthday in the UAE with an impressive 12 months of business already in the bag.
JYSK, pronounced ‘yusk’, brought its unique brand of cutting-edge Scandinavian-designed home furnishings to the UAE with the opening of a flagship store in Umm Suqeim Street, Dubai and has continued to successfully soar, opening two more stores in neighbouring Burjuman Mall and City Centre Mirdif.
With almost 40 years of history, the first year celebrates not only a footprint in the sand for the UAE, but JYSK’s 50th country they have opened for business in as the company continues to expand into new markets. JYSK now have more than 2,800 stores worldwide making it more and more easy for customers to shop its broad assortment of home products.
Famous for pioneering bed and sleeping designs, including TEMPRAKON bedding, which has been recognised by Nasa as a ‘certified space technology’, and innovative garden products, JYSK are determined to maintain value for money and keep prices in line with those in Europe, offering their customers a range of homeware and furnishings including bedding, sofas, dining tables, garden furniture, an array of textiles, accessories and everyday essentials.
With the first JYSK store being opened in Aarhus, Denmark in 1979 by Lars Larsen, who still owns the brand today, the company conceptualized JYSK as a homeware provider that offers quality products steeped in Scandinavian heritage, culture and values. These principals have helped to establish JYSK as the largest international Danish retailer and one of the largest home furnishings retailers in the world.
