April 25, 2019: The Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA) has affirmed their continuing commitment towards providing the emirate's real estate segment with the necessary tools needed in ensuring the safety of its citizens, residents and their property, through its new Aman System, which is expected to help pave the way for improved fire prevention, safety and security measures--falling in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The statement was made during a special conference organized by Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, which was held today ( 25 April 2019), at Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to introduce the Aman System to local real estate developers --making them aware of the key benefits and advantages to be gained from utilizing this new safety and security system that offers solutions to protect individuals and property via early detection and rapid warning on a 24/7 basis.

The introduction and implementation of the new Aman System proves to be both timely and strategic as the UAE has been given top ranking in the global Security and Trust Index with a grade of 96.1 per cent--reflecting the country's improved preparedness and enhanced emergency and fire response times based on set international standards and in line with UAE Vision 2021. In line with this, representatives of the local real estate segment have given praise to the new system, which is being implemented by the SPSA and managed by SANED. The move demonstrates a quality focused step towards the of early detection of fires in residential and commercial buildings in innovative ways, in line with national efforts directed to enhance the wellbeing of citizens and residents in Sharjah.

During his speech at the conference, Eng. Qais Mahmoud, Aman Project Manager, SPSA, expressed their continuous commitment to support the Aman system, especially in the move to enhance preventive safety measures, improve readiness and emergency response times, in line with the highest standards of safety and security for buildings and facilities. He further pointed out that these efforts complement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

'We are pleased to provide the local real estate segment with the needed information and knowledge covering the mechanisms of the new Aman System, which is seen as a valuable addition to the continuing efforts to position the UAE as a global hub for safety and security. The Aman System offers highly advanced features that ensure rapid fire response in cooperation and coordination with the “General Directorate of Civil Defense in Sharjah and SANED,' he said.

Mahmoud added, 'The Aman conference is an important platform to introduce a quality focused system that will contribute to the improvement of safety, security and fire prevention. The Aman System is the result of the fruitful cooperation between the SPSA and SANED, which is responsible for verifying and reporting fire alarms to facilitate the intervention and response of the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Sharjah to ensure maximum efficiency and response during emergencies. The collaboration demonstrates the common vision of enhancing the security of individuals and protecting property in Sharjah while continuing to serve the community by providing effective tools and means of ensuring the highest levels of security and safety for individuals and enterprises.'

During the conference, Abid Ali, Operations Director, SANED, threw the spotlight on the key features of the Aman System, which was developed based on integrated mechanisms and best practices aimed at consolidating fire preventive measures. He explained that the system is supported by laws and legislation that will require the adoption of the Aman System as a pre-requisite to renewing a commercial license and also as a pre-requisite for obtaining a building completion certificate. Ali also highlighted advantages like the flexibility of integrating the system into the fire alarm panel in the building, with the possibility to install it in different types of buildings. He also showcased the ability of the system to develop, modernize and expand in the future, including the capability to connect effectively with two central monitoring stations.

Building owners can register for the Aman System’s services through www.eservices.spsa.ae by entering building data such as the address, owner's name and location of the building. The new system is required to comply with the specified conditions, which require building owners to submit an annual maintenance contract for the valid fire alarm, the building completion certificate (if obtained). A fully equipped fire alarm panel with 6 full-function input ports and a separate power line for Aman is required, along with a wall space for system installation. The maintenance team of the building is also required at the site when the Aman technical team completes the installation.
