Empower achieves objectives of its Summer Campaign

Dubai, UAE, 29th September 2019: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has achieved the objectives of its annual summer campaign, which began in June 2019 to reduce district cooling energy consumption, under the slogan ‘Switch to 24°C and save more’. This is part of Empower’s efforts to support sustainability and to deliver a world-class service of environmentally friendly district cooling.

The campaign relied on innovative methods to reduce temperature inside homes using environmentally-friendly solutions, reducing monthly costs, as well as tips and guidelines that contribute to reducing energy consumption during the summer period. The campaign encourages customers to set the AC thermostat to 24 degrees Celsius.
Empower highlighted that more than 100,000 customers were inspired by the campaign, to reduce their district cooling energy consumption, and to save in their consumption bills.

“Empower’s campaigns and initiatives that aim to reduce energy consumption and protect the environment, witness huge participation from customers. This reflects customer awareness, and contributes to making them active partners in sustainable national development plans,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

“The demand for district cooling services is expanding, especially with the booming of real estate projects in Dubai. This pushes us to work using technological innovations in the field of district cooling, to provide quality services that contribute to a safe environment for future generations,” continued Bin Shafar.

“Empower has become a part of Dubai Government's energy efficiency management strategies, including the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 to transform the emirate to a global hub for clean energy and the green economy and to strengthen its position as the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world,” added Bin Shafar.

Empower provides district cooling services to more than 1,090 buildings, catering to more than 100,000 customers. The company operates more than 1.43 Million Refrigeration Tons (RT), providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Bluewaters, Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, International Media Production Zone and others.
