The region's first Middle East Instrumentation Control and Automation Conference held successfully

Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  October 02, 2019:   The selection of right instrumentation plays a vital role across varied industries. It aids in heightened efficiencies, allows for reduced environmental impacts and is a valuable face to stay competitive. In lieu of the same, major stakeholders from oil and gas, logistics, as well as the aviation industry discussed latest technologies related to Instrumentation control, Automation and Industrial Cyber Security at the Middle East Instrumentation Control and Automation Conference & Showcase (MEICA) that took place in Dubai recently.

Spanning over three days, from 1st to 3rd October, the event witnessed the presence of leading industry figures, corporate officials, luminaries, and technical professionals across the morning and evening sessions. The key dignitaries present at the event were - Mr Abdulrahman Al Fadhel, Riyadh Refinery Manager, Saudi Aramco; Ms Rebecca Vangenechten, Executive Vice President- Process Automation, Siemens and Mr Talal Al Gaidi, Senior Manager - Asset Technology Development, SABIC, Mr. Mamdouh Al Aidarous, Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco, Mr. Fawaz Al Sahan, Standards Committee Chairman – Instrumentation, Saudi Aramco, Mr. Yaqoub Al Ramah, Process & Control Systems Department, Saudi Aramco, Ms. Najoud Al Mansoori, Section Leader – Maintenance, ADNOC Refining, Mr. Ahmed Al Mashani, Head of Control & Automation, Petroleum Development Oman, Mr. Salman Al Yami, Process Automation Superintendent, Sadara Chemical Company, Mr. Yasser Mahmoud, Senior Instrument & Control Engineer, Kuwait Oil Company to name a few. 

The event was powered by industry stalwarts including Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, SABIC, Sadara Chemical Company, Siemens, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Yokogawa, Baker Hughes, Bently Nevada, Nest, Vega, Nozomi Networks, Kaspersky, and several others. 

“Industries across the UAE and the region need to reduce costs and improve asset performance to keep up with the market trends. MEICA is an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications of Instrumentation and Control Systems and Applications. The goal of this conference was to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on understanding Modern Instrumentation and Control Engineering, that would improve collaboration between end users and technology vendors,” said Romin Mathew, Director, Aldrich International.

The first of its kind in the region, MEICA provided insights on an all-new perspective on the technology and engineering expertise necessary to power a sustainable outcome for the industry. The high net worth technical conference also shed light on latest innovations available in the market to showcase the importance of the current needs, as well as highlighted best practices to benchmark the cost-effective methods that will enlighten end users and operators.

While the conference discussed varied topics, some of the key topics in focus at the forum were future of process automation, benefits of instrumentation systems for operational excellence, cyber security solutions for machinery, emergence of digitization, process control enhancement and several others.

MEICA is a definitive event for technical and allied industries in the UAE and the region, which not only brought together key talents and decision-makers from varied sectors, but also helped inform, influence, and shape conversation across industries through an in-depth research from an experienced and dedicated team of industry professionals.
