Aster Hospitals Dubai achieves diamond level status from Accreditation Canada

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 03, 2020:    Aster Hospitals Dubai, a world-class facility under Aster DM Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the Middle East and India, has achieved diamond level accreditation status from Accreditation Canada reaffirming the confidence of residents in the qualitative healthcare services provided by Aster Hospitals. This new accreditation confirms Aster Hospitals’ status as a truly world-class provider of health services and a vital player in the UAE healthcare ecosystem.

The Accreditation Canada diamond level status covered three Aster Hospital units located in Mankhool and Qusais and Aster Day Surgery Center in Mankhool. The Accreditation Canada conducted a rigorous assessment in the three units in December 2019 and validated the quality standards of care and clinical excellence.

The Accreditation Canada is a leading international institution for review and accreditation of hospitals and surgical departments as centers of excellence. The diamond level status is dubbed the highest level of accreditation award under the Accreditation Canada program and awarded to highly committed and quality-oriented organizations that monitor outcomes, use evidence and best practice to improve services.

Commenting on the accreditation, Dr Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals UAE, said, “It is a source of pride for Aster to receive the diamond level status from Accreditation Canada. This is a milestone that stands testament to the holistic, patient-centric approach our hospitals uphold. We are glad to continue receiving accreditations from global healthcare evaluation organizations for successfully implementing a world-class healthcare system based on the highest standards of quality, values and ethics.”

“The Canadian Accreditation is a stepping-stone that will keep inspiring and motivating the team to stay true to Aster's core values and live up to the promise of 'We'll Treat You Well'. Moreover, we provide regular continuing education programs to our medical staff across all specialties, educate our patients, conduct clinical research studies to provide premium health services, and measure the clinical performance to improve the service,” he added.

A not-for-profit organization, the Accreditation Canada offers a globally developed quality assessment program in line with local requirements. The evaluation covers the healthcare organization’s frontline services, practices of values and medical ethics, in addition to the feedback from patients and their families as full partners.

The organization works with providers, policy makers and the public to improve the quality and safety of health and social services for all. More than 1,100 health care and social service organizations, representing over 7,000 sites and services across 5 continents, are experiencing the rewards of being accredited by Accreditation Canada.
