The art of recycling has never been that FUN!
Dubai. 19th of December, 2021. The Spain Pavilion is organising a series of sustainable workshops to raise awareness about the global problems that waste generation entails and the direct environmental impact that this produces. From the 24th until the 27th of December, families at Expo 2020 Dubai are invited to participate in this project by turning accumulated garbage into puppets, while learning about the importance of recycling, and not generating so much waste.
Every day, four different workshops will be organized linked to the garbage containers of the exhibition: paper, plastic, organic and reject materials.
Timings:
Friday 24th: 10:30 to 11:30 am / 12 to 13 pm / 15 to 16 pm / 16:30 to 17:30
Saturday 25th: 12 to 13 pm / 16 to 17 pm/ 17:30 to 18:30
Sunday 26th and Monday 27th: 10:30 to 11:30 am / 12 to 13 pm / 16 to 17 pm / 17:30 to 18:30
Workshop 1: paper puppets. Who does not have paper waste at home? in this workshop we are going to teach how to take advantage of them. We will build puppets made exclusively with this material. There may be different construction versions of finger puppets, bags, etc.
Workshop 2: puppets with containers/plastic: Build puppets made exclusively with plastic containers and other elements thrown into this container. There can be different versions of construction, working with the shapes of large containers or with plastic bags, small containers and residual elements that are thrown into this container.
Workshop 3: puppets with organic material. Build puppets made exclusively with fruits and vegetables that are no longer suitable for consumption, and with the waste generated such as peels, pieces of vegetable parts, etc.
4: puppets with rejection elements. Build puppets made exclusively with objects and elements that are thrown into the rejection container: plugs, cables, computer mice, brushes, dolls, etc.
At the workshops, participants will learn about characteristics of these puppets and how to animate them. All workshops are one-hour long with a capacity of 20 to 30 pax.
