Maryssa O’Connor, Principal/CEO, GEMS Wellington International School and Vice President – Education, GEMS Education: “We are delighted to share that 95% of our students have passed their International Baccalaureate Diploma, achieving an average point score of 35.9, well above the world average of 31.9. Our highest scoring students achieved 44 points. These are academically challenging courses, and I am incredibly proud of all our students who have worked so hard, showing grit and determination. Congratulations to this year’s graduating class for their amazing achievements, and thanks to our passionate hardworking teachers for their inspiration and to our families and parents for their ongoing support. This year’s students thoroughly deserve their success and can look forward to bright futures.”
Kavita Bedi, IBDP Coordinator, GEMS Wellington International School: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students and would like to congratulate them on their brilliant IB exam results. Our students have successfully overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and their results are testament to the effort, perseverance and resilience displayed by each student throughout their IB journey. This exam series has been a great opportunity for the students to demonstrate the amazing things they are capable of, and it is wonderful to see their hard work rewarded. We congratulate the Class of 2022 on their fantastic achievements and wish them continued success as they move on to university and beyond.”

Patil Djerdjerian, student at GEMS Wellington International School, achieved a score of 44 and now heading to Harvard University to major in Economics: “I’m ecstatic and so happy that all the hard work has paid off in the end. I stayed up all night trying to predict what I’d get, and I’m just so grateful for my score and for my teachers that helped me get here today. I really have no words to express how much I appreciate my teachers’ hard work and guidance over the years. We’ll always keep in touch. I joined WIS in Year 1 and have been here for 13 years, so leaving is bittersweet for me, but I’m also excited to go to Harvard University and see what this new chapter has in store.”
Daniel Djerdjerian, student at GEMS Wellington International School and twin brother of the school’s topper, Patil Djerdjerian. Daniel scored 41 in his IBDP and is now heading to University of California, Los Angeles to major in Economics: “I’m really proud of the score I’ve achieved, and I feel like the work I’ve put in has paid off. I’d like to thank all my teachers who supported me throughout the two-year process. For me, it’s very emotional to be leaving school, because I’ve been here since Year 1. But I’m looking forward to my future at UCLA, most likely majoring in Economics.”
Jacki Ronalds, IBCP Coordinator, GEMS Wellington International School: “We are so proud of our IBCP students – their 100% pass rate for their BTEC and IBCP qualifications is a huge achievement after two years facing adversity in these tough times. It is testament to the hard work of not only the students, but also the teaching staff who they were so successful. Congratulations and good luck to all students on the next stage of their journey!”
