In September 2022, Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation, and fluid handling – announced a new partnership with Swedish SustainTech company Wayout to introduce sustainable water production systems in the Middle East, focusing on the United Arab Emirates and the GCC. The two companies can now reveal a joint pop-up showroom launching in Alserkal, Dubai, this fall.
Alserkal has emerged as one of Dubai’s most influential creative enclaves and is a socially responsible and forward-thinking arts and cultural enterprise based in Dubai. Alserkal is in the Al Quoz industrial area, near Dubai's Marina and financial district, where the partner’s pop-up showroom will be for 6 months. Alfa Laval and Wayout will use the pop-up showroom to demonstrate how their clean technology and groundbreaking water production system, including a smart pod, kegs, and taps, work for the important markets of UAE and GCC.
A single Wayout system can supply 3,000 people with clean and safe daily drinking and cooking water with zero byproducts while helping to eliminate the use of approximately 6.5 million plastic bottles and prevent the release of 536 metric tons of CO₂ emissions yearly. By installing Wayout’s digitized eco-friendly water systems, including its smart pods and kegs, consumers will transform the area’s water supply and provide a more eco-friendly, innovative, and healthier offering for residents in a city that pioneers sustainable urban development.
“I am delighted to announce this first installation of Wayout’s water production systems in Dubai,” says Sergio Hicke, Cluster President India, Middle East and SE Africa. “It addresses a globally important issue – access to safe drinking water – and we are very pleased our technology is part of the solution in this important region.”
“Having recently participated at EXPO2020 in Dubai, it was important to showcase our water innovations with Alfa Laval in the UAE and the GCC. Our goal is to supply the Middle East with clean drinking water, and Alserkal in Dubai is the ideal platform to showcase our award-winning water systems”, says Ulf Stenerhag, co-founder and CEO of Wayout.
Wayout drinking water is 100% locally sourced and 100% pure.
