Ajman Bank, the award-winning Islamic financial services institution, hoisted the UAE flag at a special ceremony held at its premises in Ajman in support of 'Flag Day' initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Flag Day is observed every year on November 3 to commemorate His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession as President of the UAE and marks the beginning of National Day celebrations.
In a show of solidarity, a big group of people from Ajman Bank including Ms Maryam Al Shorafa, Head of Corporate Communication and Marketing; Mr Ahmad Fuad Elayyan, SVP and Head of Central Operations, Mr Ahmed Tahoun, Head of Internal Audit, and Ms Fairouza Al Marzooqi, Head of Human Resources, came together with all others on Wednesday, November 6 at 12 noon to raise the UAE flag.
Mr Seifeldin Abdul Kareem, Acting CEO of Ajman Bank, commented, “It is indeed a very proud moment for all of us that shows reverence for the ideals that guide our nation. As we salute our great nation and leaders, we are reminded of our glorious past. Today's act strengthens the bonds of community that unites all of us”.
Hoisting the flag Ms Shorafa stated, "It is a matter of great privilege and honour for us to be part of this historic occasion as we stand united under this banner. We are truly proud of our nation and its rich heritage as we pay tribute to our leaders and their tremendous achievements. The UAE National Flag demonstrates unity, progress, peace and prestige. With it in our hands we can look to a bright future for our upcoming generations".
