Responds to growing needs by regional companies looking to embrace best in class practices and upgrade their processes and strategies
Dubai, UAE - September 3rd, 2013: Canadian executive talent agency Boardroom Metrics announced today that it is taking the next big step in its international expansion by opening an office in the region. Headquartered in Dubai, Boardroom Metrics Arabia will serve the Middle East and North Africa regions.
Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Boardroom Metrics was inspired by the fact that senior executives who go into independent consulting, mostly seek the opportunity to collaborate with others and programs to better brand and market their expertise with corporate clients. Boardroom Metrics offers programs for senior post-corporate executives and acts as a talent and cross-referral hub for independent consulting boutiques. The firm makes an intensive use of technology including the Internet and social media as part of its offering to both consultants and customers.
Boardroom Metrics Arabia will be headed by its new CEO, Ziad Awad, the former Director of Merrill Lynch/Bank of America and Goldman Sachs in the Middle East. The new office will cater to strong regional needs by organisations looking to strengthen their management structures and increase their governance criteria at the board level within both family businesses and public companies.
Ziad Awad, CEO of Boardroom Metrics Arabia, said: “The proportion of companies that are still privately held represents around 90 per cent of all commercial activity in the GCC*. With the expected shift towards public equity markets, corporations have an increased need for accomplished and senior skilled advisors and this is where Boardroom Metrics Arabia will play a big role in providing that exclusive talent for the region”. He added: “Not only will we connect the pool of independent senior consultants with the regional corporates, financial institutions and government entities who need them; we will also support these consultants with our in-house capabilities, including research and analysis, branding and marketing.”
“When Ziad approached us about the opportunity to serve the consulting and corporate communities in the Middle East we said yes immediately", said Jim Crocker, CEO of Boardroom Metrics Inc. "We knew we had the right leader and a dynamic market opportunity where our international executive and consulting services would be highly valued."
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), added: “We welcome Boardroom Metrics Arabia to the DMCC Free Zone, home to over 7,200 member companies from across the globe who choose to operate from Dubai to grow their businesses and access new markets. Over 95 per cent of new company registrations are businesses new to the Emirate which is further testament to DMCC's and Dubai's strength and appeal as the business destination of choice for SMEs and multi-nationals from all sectors.”
