Saudi Ministers to Present on Economy as Kingdom Consolidates Ambitious Series of Development Policies

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; A large delegation of financial leaders has arrived in the Kingdom to attend the Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference, which will open on 6 May with keynote addresses from government representatives and global finance figures.

Senior government ministers will address the meeting on the first day, including  H.E. Dr Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance; H.E. Dr Shwaish Al-Dowaihy, Minister of Housing; H.E. Dr Muhammad Al-Jasser, Minister of Economy and Planning; and H.E. Mr Majid Al-Moneef, Secretary General of Saudi Supreme Economic Council.

In addition, the event is set to host an on-stage interview with Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO, JPMorgan & Chase Co.

Other participants include senior executives from Tadawul (Saudi Stock Exchange), NCB, SABIC, Saudi Aramco; and Partners Group, Agence France Trésor, HSBC, and BNP Paribas.

With such a strong line-up of speakers, demand for places at the Conference has been high, with delegates from around the world representing many of the world’s leading financial organisations set to attend.

Financial opportunities remain strong in the Kingdom, which has the world’s 20th most-competitive economy. The Kingdom is the world’s largest petroleum exporter, a global leader in Islamic finance, and hosts the Arab World’s largest stock exchange.

Economic diversification is high on the agenda, with a record level of budgeted government spending planned for 2014, and high investment in the new Economic Cities.

The 9th Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference is set to examine the opportunities and challenges created by these issues this week.
