Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 24 July 2013: Building on its continued efforts to advance the profession of Internal Audit in the UAE and throughout the entire MENA region The Internal Audit Association (UAE-IAA), a locally chartered organization and dully affiliated with the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA-Global) Announces today the launch Arabic version of the “Sawyer” which is the reference for internal auditing.

The launch of "Sawyer" includes the basics and application of internal audit, and internal audit theories. It also includes basics of corporate governance, risk management and compliance. For the first time, the book has been translated to a language other than English. Translating this reference to Arabic was mainly to serve the Arabic speaking Internal Auditors.

Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid Ali, Chairman, UAE- IAA said, "The launch of the Arabic version of Sawyer is definitely an achievement for our association. We have always strived to be trendsetters in the industry and looked forward to carrying out such initiatives”.

The book focuses on meeting the requirements of the Internal Auditors and adapting to his position as an added value for any organization. The book has a philosophy manual that emphasizes on the role of the internal auditor to monitor emerging trends and keep up with the changing times.  The auditors also need to be updated with the international standards for the practice of internal auditing and development.
The UAE Internal Association (UAE-IAA) also took the lead in Arabization of the “Certified Internal Auditor” (CIA) Exam which was a combined effort of several Arab Institutes.

About the UAE-IAA:The UAE Internal Audit Association (IAA) was set up in July 1995, as a non-profit organization along the lines of its parent body with the support and co-operation of the Emirates Group, the Economic Department, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Al Futtaim, Emirates Bank and DUBAL. On the 24th of June 2006 the IIA in Dubai sought and gained approval to become IIA UAE.

In 2008 they obtained a ministerial decree from the Ministry of Social Affairs to become the UAE Internal Audit Association. The Association now has the support of leading companies from the UAE who are involved in promoting the profession of Internal Auditing through this medium.

Keeping with the mission Provide dynamic leadership to advocate and promote the profession of internal auditing throughout the UAE, UAE IIA offers regular trainings, workshops, seminars and an annual conference with the objective of promoting the profession within the business community.
