Womenswear Collection

Fashion for women for the New Look Spring/Summer 2016 season is heavily influenced by hothouse florals, graphic and sporty silhouettes and a sophisticated twist on 90s trends at fast fashion obtainability.

Street-ready jackets, pale wash denims, pleated skirts, lace accents and boudoir-inspired dresses and camisoles are expressed in neutral colour palettes, highlighted with sizzling pops of colour that emulate the warm weather season.

Castaway ushers in the season with rumpled denims, washed linen, macramé and embroidery. Woven stripes, dip dyes and slub jersey contribute to the overall vintage look and feel. Shells, straw, embroidery and woven fabrics crown the carefree pieces made for warm weather lounging.

Shades of khaki, grey, black and white usher in the Geo Sport trend. Easy wear pieces take on athletic undertones in relaxed silhouettes. Sporting detail is reflected in bomber jackets, sleek tops, knit pencil skirts and wide leg cropped trousers.

As the temperatures rise, so too does the Hothouse trend, focused on tropical palms and retro greenhouse prints. Corn yellow and bold khaki form the key colour palette amongst accents of cream, turquoise and electric blue. Wide and cropped trousers are paired with off-the-shoulder and Bardot tops. Drawstrings, cut out denim and block graphics add other elements of adornment to complete the look.

Embellished looks are also key focal points of Native Soul, featuring western and folk emphasis in a colour palette of tobacco, cream, smoky black and cherry red. Woven frabic and linen blends appear throughout, especially when accented with pom-pom trims and fringe. Dresses are a key highlight in patchwork chevron prints with smock detailing or yoke embroidery. Patchwork lace tops and distressed denim further compliment the wardrobe.

Ruffles, raw edges and boudoir flourishes are articulated in the slip dresses, playsuits and ice wash denim characteristic of 90s Romance. Soft and feminine neutrals anchor the trend with shades of mink and black accented with stripes on co-ords. Silhouettes are minimal, with cold shoulder dresses featuring heavily, adding to the overall deconstructed luxe look.

Accessories and footwear go classically feminine for Spring/Summer 2016 in fresh spring colours, accented with espadrille styling, fringe or tassels. Ghillie sandals continue to be a key look. Whilst traditional bag shapes are updated with tribal styled embroidery and embellished canvas bags. Jewellery is draped and dapple with shells, beading and feathers. Neons complete subdued wooden bangles whilst chokers form a key piece of 90s nostalgia.

Swimwear receives a new season twist with a colour and shape update. High neck styles are the key look for the summer months, in ladylike prints and scalloped edges. Plunging fronts, multi-straps, fringe and slashed cut-outs are perfect for pool parties and seaside holidays. Cover-ups in relaxed silhouettes come in crochet fabrics for playsuits and kaftans, that easily go from the beach to the city.

Overall, the looks embody the New Look womenswear Spring/Summer 2016 collection, furthering the brand’s reputation for affordable and trendy fashion.

Menswear Collection

The New Look Menswear Spring/Summer collection recalls feelings of nostalgia in old-school college motifs, retro prints, washed and worn fabrics, and 90s-inspired sportswear.

The suede that was so popular in Autumn/Winter 2015 reappears in lighter, brighter tones for the warmer months. Along the same colour palette, camel, tonal greys, and relaxed blues are key shades for the season. Muted pastels provide interesting highlights to compliment the base tones.

Wardrobe staples like t-shirts, denim and button downs are re-imagined in weathered prints and washed-out jersey. Bomber jackets are must have statement pieces in navy and khaki.

Japanese workwear styling meets East London detailing, with laid-back layered looks in a modern artisanal twist. The trend builds on the hipster theme, with more emphasis on textures and a smart/casual aesthetic. Military details on pocketed shirts or khaki trousers add another element of utilitarianism. Indigo, khaki, Bordeaux and maritime navy form the core colour trend. Further summer styling transcends into open weave knitwear and rumpled jerseys.

Men’s accessories for Spring/Summer continue to accentuate these looks with easy wear plimsolls and sockless loafers.

The overall impact builds on New Look’s reputation for trend-led, affordable fashions for the urban man. The collection is available now in stores throughout the Middle Eastern region.
