Top Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan inspires men in GCC to use oil control Fair and Handsome cream
[UAE, January 27, 2015] – As a brand ambassador of Fair and Handsome advanced whitening oil control cream for almost 10 years now, famous Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan has inspired many men across the Arab World to use the male-specific skin care product for their oily skin problem. Khan, one of the only two Indian actors who made it to the USD 100-million club in 2014, commands strong following in the region, including Arab fans, making him the ideal advocate to encourage male population to patronize products that are specifically designed for them.
According to an industry survey, nearly a third of men still borrowed beauty items from their other halves despite the influx of male-specific products in the market today. Masculine skin, however, is highly distinct from women’s. Men tend to sweat more and suffer the side effects of daily shaving. Furthermore, their constant outdoor activities and long exposure to sun, which activates oil glands, exacerbate the oiliness of their skin. A research done by TNS 12 shows that Arab men as well as active teenagers who spend so much time outdoors suffer from excessive oiliness, forcing them to buy items that address this specific skin problem. Extreme oiliness makes them look darker and more prone to acne than their female counterparts.
The global grooming market is teeming with oil-control products designed specifically for men’s different skin types. In the UAE and GCC as a whole, the Fair and Handsome advanced whitening oil control cream, oil control purifying face wash, and moisturizer are leading the competition. More than 3 million Fair and Handsome cream packs were in fact sold in the region in 2014. Khan’s endorsement of the Fair and Handsome cream has also bolstered the product’s sales volumes. The Fair and Handsome face wash, on the other hand, currently ranks number 1 and number 2 in the Saudi Arabian and UAE markets, respectively.
Prashant Goenka, Director, Emami Ltd, said: “We brought Fair and Handsome, a top skin care brand in India, to the Arab World to address men’s requirements in the region. The region’s hot, dry climate aggravates the skin’s oiliness further, making it more imperative for men to protect themselves from too much exposure to the sun. Men’s penchant for greasy food also contributes to their skin problem. Fair and Handsome has been proven to provide that needed protection and solution. We have successfully carved a niche in the regional industry, specifically in the local market, and we intend to sustain this market foothold. We are looking forward to exceeding our last year’s achievements this 2015.”
Fair and Handsome has successfully duplicated its achievement in the UAE and GCC markets due to its proven, long-lasting benefits that complement men’s active lifestyle and address their unique skin needs. International skin care experts have formulated the products with ingredients that ensure sun protection, oil control, spot reduction, sweat control and lasting fairness for men.
The Fair and Handsome advanced whitening oil control cream contains fast-action Lumino-peptide to improve skin complexion in three weeks. It also absorbs excess oil and regulates sebum production, protects skin from pigmentation as a result of exposure from ultraviolet rays, reduces blemishes for clearer skin tone, and smoothens and restores skin elasticity.
The Fair and Handsome oil control purifying face wash, on the other hand, is also packed with Lumino-peptide that penetrates the skin to regulate melanin synthesis for faster skin lightening. Additionally, it cleanses and absorbs excess oil, unclogs pores, and regulates sebum production to prevent acne breakout.
The Fair and Handsome products, which can be used by men of all ages, are available in all leading stores.
