  • Casio launches Oceanus, world's first Full Metal GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor watch in the Middle East
  • Solar-powered timepieces use GPS technology & radio wave reception to fine tune time calibration across the globe

Casio Middle East FZE announced the Middle East launch of their new OCEANUS brand of solar-powered radio-controlled metal watches designed to capture the essence of elegance and technology. These watches come equipped with an original hybrid timekeeping system developed by Casio which receives both Global Positioning System (GPS) signals and radio wave time-calibration signals, through which the watches can determine the user’s current location anywhere in the world and correct the time accordingly with just one push of a button.

The OCEANUS brand is being launched in tandem with the opening of the brand's 150th POS in the region at Al Ghurair Centre. OCEANUS watches feature user-friendly world time functions and are equipped to receive GPS signals and radio wave time-calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world. The Oceanus brand represents latest innovation by the intrepid engineers at Casio, who have gained a global reputation for blending the latest technology effortlessly with the intricacies of fine design and style. Casio's range of watches are distributed across the UAE by Mid Asia Trading LLC

The new OCEANUS OCW-G1000 is the first watch to fit the unique hybrid timekeeping system into titanium cases with TiC hardened coating to make the metal more resistant to scratches. With just a push of a button, the watches can access the exact location information, determine the time zone and adjust for daylight savings time. In as little as seven seconds, the watches correct the time using either GPS signals or radio wave time-calibration signals, depending on the user’s location. The OCEANUS brand also features the Dual Dial World Time function, which lets users simultaneously confirm the time in two different cities, making world travel simpler.

In addition, OCEANUS watches come equipped with shadow-dispersing solar cells that efficiently receive light using a smaller surface area. This technology enables Casio to create a highly refined watch face design. The face features dual-curved sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on both sides for high visibility, and the case has been finished with Sallaz polishing for a lustrous finish.

SPECIAL G-SHOCK WITH RECRYSTALLIZED TITANIUM 64 ALLOY- NEW LUXURY TIMEPIECE FROM CASIO

Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced recently the latest addition to the flagship MR-G Series in the G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches. The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT features recrystallized Ti64 alloy*2 to express the quality of  nie pattern*1 that is one of the traditional technique represent Japanese swords, and the model will be produced in a limited run of only 100 watches available worldwide.

*1 A nie pattern is a crystal structure on the blade surface that is characterized by a grain pattern
*2 Ti64 is a type of alloy made from 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium.

The MR-G Series stands at the pinnacle of the G-SHOCK line, incorporating advanced technology and fine metal crafting to realize the ultimate in toughness, made with the very finest attention to detail.

The new G-SHOCK MRG-G1000RT watch inherits the features of the model it is based on, the MRG-G1000—an advanced timekeeping system that receives both Global Positioning System (GPS) and radio wave time-calibration signals and offers Dual Dial World Time, which simultaneously displays the time in two different cities. The design of the MRG-G1000RT is developed under the theme of “Made in Japan,” to express the proud origins of G-SHOCK as a Japanese brand.

Inspired by the nie pattern that is characteristic of Japanese swords and represents the heights of Japanese craftsmanship, the bezel and metal plate are made from Ti64 alloy hardened by a recrystallization process. This process gives the bezel and metal plate a rich finish that reflects tastefully in the light.

The MRG-G1000RT features a deep “Japan blue” DLC coating*3 that subtly changes expression depending on the viewing angle, giving the watch a mature and attractive hue. True to its “Made in Japan” roots, the watch incorporates other styling features inspired by the hues of Japanese traditional craftsmanship such as metal engraving, with gold-colored front screws and index marks in the watch face.
*3 Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings produce an uncrystallized, hard carbon coating mainly of hydrogen and carbon.
