Dubai, United Arab Emirates - October 10, 2019:   The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), contracted by 3.9% in August 2019, compared to the same period in 2018. This marks the tenth consecutive month of year-on-year decline in freight volumes, the longest period since the global financial crisis in 2008.  Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), rose by 2% year-on-year in August 2019. The photos showed AlMansoori conducting an experiment on bone status indexes, body composition, and endocrine regulation in astronauts. This experiment on “Osteology” is conducted in cooperation with the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos. Emirates announces its first A380 service to Cairo

Dubai, UAE - 29 September 2019:  Emirates will be operating its A380 service to Cairo International Airport on 2 October 2019, making it the first scheduled commercial airline to operate an A380 flight into Egypt. With the intent to make the world's largest commercial passenger jet a part of the airline's scheduled service to Cairo, this inaugural flight will re-affirm the airport's infrastructure readiness ahead of regular A380 operations. Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  September 29, 2019:    In his third day aboard the International Space Station (ISS), Emirati astronaut Hazzaa AlMansoori, began his day by communicating with the ground station at MBRSC in Dubai, and informing them of his daily schedule. He then spoke to MBRSC again at the end of the day. Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  September 28, 2019:    Hazzaa AlMansoori, the first Emirati astronaut, began his missions immediately after arriving safely at the International Space Station (ISS). AlMansoori arrived at 2:12am UAE time, on September 26 2019, aboard the Russian spacecraft Soyuz MS-15, along with Russia’s cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka, and US astronaut Jessica Meir. Emergency exercise at Al Ain International Airport on Wednesday, 25th September 2019

September 26, 2019 - Dubai, UAE Abu Dhabi Airports will conduct a full scale aircraft crash simulation exercise at Al Ain International Airport on Wednesday 25th September 2019, in accordance with Civil Aviation regulations issued by the General Civil Aviation Authority, and in compliance with standards and recommendations as stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization.    The full scale emergency simulation at Al Ain International Airport will measure the preparedness, emergency response capabilities, implementation of strategies by all participating agencies and assess Al Ain International Airport’s business continuity procedures.  The exercise is expected to run for approximately three hours (18:30 pm - 21:30 pm). Soyuz FG rocket boasts with UAE flag and Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center logo in preparation for September 25 mission

Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  September 22, 2019:   The Soyuz FG, carrying the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft, in which Hazzaa AlMansoori, the first Emirati astronaut, will launch to the International Space Station, is emblazoned with the logo of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the UAE flag along with the flags of Russia and America in preparation for the historic mission. The Soyuz rocket was first launched in 1966, and the launch system was developed by Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation, Energia, and built by the Research and Production Development Center of Progress Rocket Space Centre in Samara, Russia. The photo of the Soyuz FG rocket was taken from the  Baikonur Cosmodrome facilities in Kazakhstan, where the three stages of the rocket are being assembled ahead of the launch.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  September 21, 2019:   Emirates is once again pushing the boundaries of technology, becoming the first airline outside America to receive approval for biometric boarding from the U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP). Soon, customers flying from Dubai to any of Emirates' 12 destinations in the U.S. will be able to choose facial recognition technology at the departure gates, reducing the time taken for identity checks to two seconds or less. No pre-registration is required, and customers may also choose not to use the technology.
