MBRSC Announces Completion of Thermal Vaccum Test for Rashid Rover

Dubai, UAE - 07 September 2021: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) today announced that the ELM team has completed the thermal vaccum test for the Rashid rover at CNES in Toulouse, France. July Passenger Traffic Boost, but Well Below Pre-COVID Levels

02, September 2021:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that both international and domestic travel demand showed significant momentum in July 2021 compared to June, but demand remained far below pre-pandemic levels. 15, July 2021: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) warned that the reliance on taxation as the solution for cutting aviation emissions in the EU’s ‘Fit for 55’ proposal is counter-productive to the goal of sustainable aviation. EU policy needs to support practical emission reduction measures such as incentives for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and modernization of air traffic management.  “Aviation is committed to decarbonization as a global industry. IATA Calls on States to Follow WHO Guidance on Cross-Border Travel

July 15, 2021:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) called on states to follow new guidance on travel from the World Health Organization (WHO). The guidance recommends a “risk-based approach” to implementing measures related to COVID-19 and international travel. It will be presented to the WHO COVID-19 International Health Regulations Emergency Committee on Thursday 15 July.   Specifically, WHO recommended that governments:   • Do not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a mandatory condition for entry or exit • Remove measures such as testing and/or quarantine requirements for travelers who are fully vaccinated or have had a confirmed previous COVID-19 infection within the past six months • Ensure alternative pathways for unvaccinated individuals through ......read more

May Air Cargo 9.4% Above Pre-COVID Levels

08, July 2021:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released May 2021 data for global air cargo markets showing that demand continued its strong growth trend.   As comparisons between 2021 and 2020 monthly results are distorted by the extraordinary impact of COVID-19, unless otherwise noted, all comparisons to follow are to May 2019 which followed a normal demand pattern.   Global demand, measured in cargo tonne-kilometers (CTKs*), was up 9.4% compared to May 2019. Seasonally adjusted demand rose by 0.4% month-on-month in May, the 13th consecutive month of improvement.    The pace of growth slowed slightly in May compared to April which saw demand increase 11.3% against pre-COVID-19 levels (April 2019). IATA Launches Self Registration Portal for IATA Travel Pass Lab Network

29, June 2021:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched a self-registration portal to make it easier for COVID-19 testing labs to join the IATA Travel Pass Lab Network.  IATA’s Lab Network provides a list of eligible lab locations around the globe so that travelers can easily find a location for a COVID-19 test prior to travel.  The newly launched portal provides a one-stop-shop for labs to self-register to be included in the Network.  Labs wishing to join the IATA Lab Network should confirm that they meet the eligibility *criteria* and register through the new Self Registration Portal.
