
RAK Hospital Launches Post-COVID Clinic to Support Long COVID Patients in the Community
100 Free CT scans and complimentary consultation with Specialist Pulmonologist offered as part of the program
June 8, 2023; Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: Since the very beginning of the pandemic, RAK Hospital has remained at the forefront of ensuring community well-being; taking numerous initiatives to ensure the health and safety of the population. Continuing its commitment towards the people of Ras Al Khaimah, in yet another innovative initiative country’s leading healthcare institution launches a Post-Covid Clinic, specifically designed to address the needs of individuals experiencing persistent symptoms even after recovering from COVID-19.
As part of this community-driven effort, RAK Hospital is offering 100 free CT chest scans to individuals suffering from long COVID along with complimentary consultation with Dr. Suha Alsheikh Suleman, Specialist Pulmonologist, ensuring that patients receive the necessary diagnostic support and care they deserve. The free consultations and CT scans can be availed until July 31, 2023.
Dr. Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director of RAK Hospital, said, 'The hospital was born to serve the community, and since day one, community outreach has been our top priority. From setting up an exclusive COVID PCR center and providing quick test results to introducing the first antibody treatment against the virus in the UAE and launching comprehensive rehabilitation and support for COVID long-haulers, our institution has pioneered many initiatives.
Today, in response to the growing number of patients grappling with post-COVID symptoms, we are launching the Post-COVID Clinic. Our goal is to provide expert care and comprehensive support in a dedicated clinic, tailored to meet the unique needs of long COVID patients in our community. I urge individuals experiencing persistent post-COVID symptoms to visit our Post-COVID Clinic and take advantage of the complimentary CT scans and consultations.”
The clinic will be fully supported by the hospital’s pulmonary medicine department completely equipped to offer a wide range of services to effectively diagnose and treat pulmonary conditions. These services include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, oxygen therapy, medication management, and rehabilitation programs designed to aid patients in their recovery from respiratory events while enhancing overall pulmonary health.
