Nando's uae taps into health-conscious dining trend with new peri-avo butterfly chicken
First-of-its-kind PERi-Avo Butterfly Chicken answers growing demand for clean, bold eating in the region
United Arab Emirates, Dubai - March 2025: In response to the region’s growing appetite for health-conscious dining, Nando’s UAE has unveiled its most forward-thinking dish to date - the PERi-Avo Butterfly Chicken - marking a significant evolution in the brand’s culinary direction.
Now available across all Nando’s locations in the UAE for AED 78, the dish features a flame-grilled double chicken breast, topped with avocado PERi salsa, crisp baby rocca, pomegranate seeds and roasted nuts, delivering a vibrant, flavour-packed meal rooted in real, whole ingredients.
With this launch, Nando’s responds to an evident shift in consumer preferences across the UAE, as more diners seek out meals that are lighter, high in protein, and made with natural ingredients, yet still offer a satisfying experience. According to a 2024 survey by YouGov, 35% of UAE residents now consider nutritional value as one of the top three factors when choosing where to dine, with 42% of millennials specifically prioritising high-protein and low-processed meals. It’s a dish designed for clean eaters, gym-goers, and anyone looking for nourishment without giving up satisfaction.
“This isn’t just a menu update - it’s a reflection of where our guests are headed,” said George Kunnappally, Managing Director of Nando’s UAE. “People want food that supports their lifestyle without compromising on taste. The PERi-Avo Butterfly Chicken delivers on that with no shortcuts.”
The new dish comes at a time when more UAE consumers are prioritising health, ingredient transparency and lifestyle-friendly dining. Research shows that nearly 1 in 3 diners in the region actively seek out healthier menu choices, a number that continues to climb post-pandemic.
Over the past year, the UAE has seen a sharp rise in wellness-driven dining - from high-protein trends to macro-calculated meal plans and health-focused cafés. As consumer preferences evolve, established restaurant brands are under increasing pressure to adapt without compromising their core identity.
With the launch of the PERi-Avo Butterfly Chicken, Nando’s UAE is among the first in its category to respond to this shift with a flavour-first, wholefood-based approach - offering clean protein while staying true to the brand’s bold, flavour-led DNA.
The PERi-Avo Butterfly Chicken is available for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery across the UAE.
